Hometown Hideaway

Located in Buffalo County, Nebraska, Ravenna has a population of nearly 1300 people. Many enjoy their home life in Ravenna while working in larger communities such as Kearney, 40 miles to the southwest or Grand Island, 35 miles to the southeast. Nebraska highway 2 flows right by Ravenna's south door step at highway 68. Within the town itself you will fine a grocery store, restaurants, a hardware store, a gas station, a flower store, realtors, bank, motel, ball fields, parks, swimming pool and a golf course.

The residents of Ravenna are proud and supportive of their community's school and its athletic teams. As well they should be! The girls volleyball team won the State C-2 championship in 2008 and the boys' basketball team has won seven C-2 State championships!

The community holds a three day long celebration in June called "ANNEVAR". Thursday kicks off the celebration with a prince/princess contest and later a teen dance with a pie baking contest and quilt show on Friday. Sand volleyball, antique tractor parade, an ice cream social and car show are just a few of the activities that will be taking place over the weekend.
